Chen village was located in the foot of Qing Feng Hill of 5 km to east of Wen County. The Yellow River was running beside the southern Wen County through the ages
This is a common Chinese village. There are 600 families and 2500 villagers who peaceful and comfortable live the idyllic life that they worked at sunrise while they rested at sunset in the gullies of the village.
However it is said that not high hill maybe is well known because there lived an immortal in it; not deep water maybe is intelligent because there lived a dragon in it.
Chen Village has unique charming because it was pregnant with the extremely subtle Tai Chi Quan. Nowadays Tai Chi Quan had been spread all the over the world and became a kind of Chinese Martial Arts benefited to mankind. It might have self-protection as Martial Arts while it might keep good heath as sport. Every year many Chinese and foreigners come to Chen village for studying and worshiping. So Chen village was named “ the sacred place of Tai Chi ”.
Many Tai Chi specialists lived in seclusion in Chen village. As the saying goes: “ drinking water in Chen village, you will practice Tai Chi” “if you can practice Tai Chi or not, it was up to the movement named ‘Buddha’s Warrior Attendant Pounds Mortar’ ”. All the villagers could almost practice Tai Chi, who is aged from kids to eighty-year-old men. Since Chen Wang-Ting as ancestor created Tai Chi Quan which was handed down from generation to generation and Tai Chi talents came forth in large numbers. So Tai Chi Quan bravely stood upright among the top of Chinese Martial Arts circles.
Tai Chi Quan dates from the 14th century .In those days, Chen village was named “ Chang Yang village”. As Wen County history recorded: “In the early Emperor Hong Wu of Qing Dynasty, Ling Mu Er(name) who was a general of Yuan dynasty defended the Prefecture of Huai Qing. Zhu Yuan Zhang, Emperor of Ming dynasty was extremely angry because the troops Ming dynasty did not capture the city for a long time. He ordered to butcher the citizens. So there were no sign of human habitation in the Huai Qing area.
In the fifth- year of Hong Wu Emperor Ming Dynasty, Zhu Yuan Zhang has ordered to immigrate from Hong Dong County of San Xi province to Huai Qing area.
The youth named Chen Bu was born in Dong Tu River village of Ze Zhou county of Shan Xi province. Farmers in the county could hardly get in any crops because of successive years of drought. Under the condition, he had to leave home for a living with his family. They kept pace with the emigration movement when they came to Hong Dong County. Then they were forced to go to Huai Qing along the south east of Hong Dong County.
Chen Bu was the first generation of Chen family in the Village. He was generous and warmhearted, so he had always helped the other people who were caught in trouble times during the period of emigration. After they had arrived in Wen County, they has started to build their houses with the earth and the straw and formed a village gradually., The village was called Chen Bu village because the villagers great respected for him. The villager said that the stone roller is used by Chen Bu in those years was put on the well now. Chen Bu has been moved to Chang Yang village out of the low –lying terrain of the village two year later. Chen Bu was skilled in martial arts .He found that there were many bandits near the hill. Then he has set up the Wu Xue Society for teaching martial arts in order to defend their village. . As Wen County history recorded: “ the Society was the first example of practicing martial arts in Chen village ”.
