Wang Zhanjun is a native to Chenjiagou (Chen Village), Wen Xian, Henan Province. He is the 20th generation successor of Chen Shi Taijiquan and the second generation successor to Wang Xi’an Taijiquan. He is a certified Wushu judge of the People’s Republic of China as well as being the director/head coach of the Chenjiagou Martial Arts Academy.
Wang Zhanjun started learning Chen Shi Taijiquan under the strict supervision of his father Master Wang Xi’an in all elements of Chen Shi Taijiquan including the Old Frame (Laojia), New Frame (Xinjia), Push hands (Tuishou), Joint Locking Techniques and various weapons. He excelled early on in the combat applications of Chen Shi Taijiquan winning successive provincial and national taiji push hand tournaments. His reputation for long standing victories in national and international events has earned him the nickname “The General of Long Standing Victories” (Chang Sheng Jiang Jun) .

In July 1988 . attended the Henan Provincial 5 Northern Cities Tournament and took the championship title.
In September 1988, attended the Jiaozuo City Youth Games and took Championship titles in the Taiji Martial Arts Division.
In June 1991, attended the Henan Provincial Taiji Tournament in Kaifeng
and took the championship title in the 75kg push hands division.
In May of 1992, attended the Henan Provincial Taiji Tournament in Pingding Shan and took the championship title in the 75kg push hands division.
In September of 1993, attended the China Wen Xian Second International
Annual Taiji Conference in Wen Xian, Henan and took the championship title in the 80kg push hands division.
In October of 1993, attended the All China Taiji Push Hands Exchange
Conference in Hangzhou and took the championship title in the 75kg push hands division.
In May of 1994 was inaugurated as a member of the Henan Martial Arts Association.
In June of 1994, attended the Henan Provincial Taiji Tournament in Xinxiang and took the championship title in the 75kg push hands division.
In September of 1994, attended the China Wen Xian Third International Annual Taiji Conference and took the championship title in the 80kg push hands division. He was also promoted to the position of Head Coach of the Chenjiagou Martial Arts Academy after the tournament.
In May of 1995, attended the Henan Provincial Martial Arts Cup in Anyang and took the championship title in the 80kg and above push hands category.
In July of 1995, attended the Chinese National Martial Arts Championships held in Ningbo, Zhejiang, as a representative of the Henan provincial team. Took the championship title in the 80kg push hands division.
In June of 1996, attended the Henan Provincial Martial Arts Cup in Kaifeng and took the championship title in the 80kg push hands category. Due to many requests by taiji enthusiasts, in July of the same year he produced a video compilation titled “The Best of Chen Shi Taijiquan” .
In August of 1996, attended the China Wen Xian Fourth International Annual Taiji Conference and took the championship title in the 80kg push hands division. After the tournament he was interviewed by the Japanese Representative at the tournament and shortly after a video compilation “ The Special Push Hand Combat Techniques of Chen Shi Taijiquan” was published in Japan.
In October of 1996, he raised 200,000 RMB and began construction of the largest martial arts academy in Wen Xian known as the “Chen Shi Taiji Martial Arts Academy” .
In November of 1996, attended the Chinese National Martial Arts Championships held in Jian, Jiangxi, as a representative of the Henan provincial team. Took the championship title in the 80kg push hands division.
In December of 1996, publishes a book titled “Personal Thoughts on Chen Shi Taijiquan” .
In June of 1997, attended the Henan Provincial Martial Arts Cup held in Zhengzhou and took the championship title in the 80kg push hands category. (Acted as both coach and athlete for the first time)
In July of 1997 was invited to the Singapore Second Martial Arts Conference to demonstrate Taiji push hands and created a huge interest in taiji attracting local news stations to broadcast the demonstration live. Newspapers also wrote many articles about the demonstrations after the event.
In November of 1997, attended the Chinese National Martial Arts Championships held in Gaoyou Jiangsu, as a representative of the Henan provincial team and took the championship title in the 80kg push hands division. Name was also added to the dictionary of famous Chinese Martial Artists in the same year. Also published an article in the 1997 6th issue of Shaolin and Taiji Magazine, the article was titled “The intent and breathing in Chen Shi Taiji”.
On December 30, 1997 was granted the title of “Great Warrior” by the Henan Provincial Sport and Athletic Association.
In May of 1998, attended the Henan Provincial Taijiquan Championships held in Zhengzhou and took the championship title in the traditional Taiji and 56 competition form divisions. (Acted as both coach and athlete)
In July of 1998, was appointed vice director of Research in Taiji Theory and began research work at the Wen Xian Chen Shi Taiji Research Institute. In the same year he was also granted the title of “Top Ten Outstanding Martial Arts Master” as well as earning as spot in the “Compilation Chinese Heroes of the Current Generation”.
In August of 1998, attended the China Wen Xian Fifth International Annual Taiji Conference and took the championship title in Traditional Taiji, Taiji sword and the 85kg push hands division. (Acted as both coach and athlete)
In October of 1998, attended the Fifth Chinese International Taiji Alliance Conference held in Handan, Hebei and took the championship title in the 85kg push hands and Chen Shi Taijiquan division.
In January of 1999, published in the 88th issue of Shaolin and Taiji Magazine an article titled “A Three Section Introduction to the Basics of Taijiquan”
In June of 2000, acted as coach and martial arts director for the popular 28 episode TV serial “The Taiji Master” ( Taiji Zongshi )
In June of 2000, was awarded National level Wushu Judge Second Class.
In August of 2000, became a designated judge in the A Division push hand events at the China Wen Xian Fifth International Annual Taiji Conference held in Jiaozuo, Wenxian.
On October 30th, 2000 was invited by the Chinese Guinness Television to demonstrate the internal dantian skill clocking in a record of launching a 1250 gram weight into the air using only the stomach. Also demonstrated taiji rooting, by withstanding 10 people pushing against him simultaneously.
In January of 2000 appointed vice director and head coach of the China Chenjiagou Martial Arts Academy.
In November of 2000, attended the Zhuhai International Taiji Exchange Conference in Zhuhai, Guangdong and took the championship title in the 85kg push hand and Chen Style Taiji divisions.
In December of 2000, was invited to Hong Kong to participate in “The Gathering of Martial Art Masters” organized by the Hong Kong Taiji and Qigong Society. Was granted the title of “Prince of Taiji” and appointed special advisor to the Hong Kong and Qigong Society in the same year.
In March of 2002, was appointed to serve as president of the “Wenxian School for Gifted Youth” In August of 2002, participated in the Second Jiaozuo China International Taiji Conference and performed in the Master’s Demonstration.
In October of 2002 performed, for the leaders of the Central Disciplinary Committee and the Central Government Orgnization Department.
In December of 2002, earned a spot in the “Dictionary of Martial Arts of the Current Generation” as well as editing publishing the “Thoughts on Taiji by Chinese Taiji Masters”
In December of 2002, was invited to Hong Kong to participate in “The Gathering of Martial Art Masters” organized by the Hong Kong Taiji and Qigong Society. Was appointed honourary Chairman of the Hong Kong Internal Martial Arts Research Association.
